Scope of work:

We were engaged as Civil Consultants on the $50M Design and Construct project. Byrne Consultants’ role included design and documentation of all earthworks, roadworks, car parks and storm water drainage, set out and floor levels of all buildings, set out and co-ordination of all services including level control at all service crossings.

Project Highlights: 

Byrne Consultants worked very closely with the contractor and other consultants to provide tender documentation and detailed design documentation in a very tight timeframe. Our design approach allowed the D&C contractor to start work on site within 2 weeks of commissioning.

During construction include we dealt with a clay subgrade that broke down to low strength and became highly expansive when compacted. The pavement design and construction methods used were modified to successfully allow construction over the clay material.
